The critical point taken up was to engage the rural and urban population with the benefits of education and motivate the parents to regularize their children’s education. Encouragement was focused on awareness about government schemes available to popularize the right to education for street and working children who were employed as child labor in factories and as rag pickers. These children are provided free education to implement the right to safe and secure childhood. Special initiative is taken to involve the marginalized groups like women, Muslims, SC, ST and OBC communities. We also run facilities for helping street children getting admission in government schools.Books, Pencils, Rubbers and Copies are distributed at large scale to motivate children the deprived communities.

Gender Sensitization Workshops in University of Delhi Colleges.
UMMANG, Partners in Human Development considers that law provides the space for negotiating rights, and hence dissemination of gender sensitization and legal awareness is the need of the hour. To address this need, workshops on legal literacy and awareness are conducted across various Universities and colleges in Delhi. We have a free legal counseling center for all sections of society. Our future Plan of Action includes conducting extensive awareness programs among RWAs.
Ummang Partners in Human Development has started a youth movement for legal awareness. The aim of this legal awareness programme is to make legal education and knowledge inclusive and also to make it accessible to the common man. Youth is the future of a nation and it is essential to involve the youth in nation-building. Therefore, Ummang has attempted to engage the young generation in participating in the legal and political process of the country.
The first target has been the colleges of Delhi University. We have included colleges situated outside the North campus so that they too gain visibility and benefit from the programme. When we talk about laws we not only focus on its punitive character, that is , its power to punish those who commit crimes but also discuss how they reflect our concern with reconstituting ourselves into a moral society. Ummang introduces students to laws that impact our lives in meaningful ways.
We discuss the broad issues of rights and social responsibilities. We provide an insight into aspects of protective and affirmative nature of social justice and responsibility.
